Dust haze, partly cloudy weather to prevail on Monday – NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted dust haze with visibility of two to five kilometres over Zaria, Abuja, Minna and Kaduna on Monday.

NiMet made the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Sunday.

It added that the region would have day and night temperature of 31 to 36 degrees Celsius and 14 to 20 degrees Celsius respectively.

It predicted that the Southern states would experience partly cloudy conditions over the South West with localised thundery activities over Ikom, Ogoja, Port-Harcourt, Eket and Calabar during the afternoon and evening hours.

NiMet also predicted that the region would experience day and night temperatures of 34 to 36 and 21 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience dust haze with horizontal visibilities between two to five kilometers with day and night temperatures of 32 to 37 and 14 to 21 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Dust haze is expected to prevail over the North and Central states with a slight improvement in visibility of two to five kilometers with prospects of thundery activities in a few Southern cities”, it predicted.
